I finally got the bike broke in last night with a little over 2 hours of breaking it in the right way. I’m down here in Mesquite visiting my Grandpa and Grandma so we headed to the Mesquite MX track first thing this morning. It’s cold down here; around 30° this morning but warming up and not nearly as bad as back in Payson where it was under 20° this morning.
The 250 handles completely different than my Honda CRF450R; both the 05 and the 2017 so I’m taking it a little slow to feel out the bike. Also, with the new bike I didn’t want to push it today.

On one of the practice runs a group of us was racing up the big hill climb at Mesquite when at the top of the hill a kid behind me looped out. All I could here is this bike winding up and all of a sudden the kid’s bike was airborne and I felt it hit me in the back of my helmet. That was close; too close. That was lucky. The bike was back flipping on that high hill and almost killed a guy shooting film of the riders. It was a dangerous day at the track. Another rider cased a double and went head over heal and totally ripped up his chin. There was literally a flap of skin under his chin that was dangling and blood everywhere. He was lucky that a couple of Paramedics from Vegas were riding, a guy and his girlfriend. They had to be good people because they were both riding the Blucru – Yamahas.
